How we compared them

Every agency is described on the same four points.

Who writes, and how code is checked
Whether writers use the product, who reviews technical accuracy, and whether the code is run before you see it.
What they cover
Writing only, or docs, video, SEO, distribution and DevRel as well.
Commitment and pricing
Published prices, minimum terms and how an engagement starts.
Who they're built for
Company stage, product type and how much of your team's time they need.

We didn't hire each agency for this guide. Every fact comes from the agency's own website, checked in October 2026. Where an agency doesn't publish prices, we cite one dated third-party estimate and label it. We left out Hoopy, a well-known developer relations agency, because it stopped operating in 2026.

The agencies

The same five questions for each, including us.

Argot

Teams that want code that has been run, plus editing and strategy, from a smaller team.

What they do
Tutorials, guides, explainers, comparison pages and opinion pieces. Editing for drafts your team or a model wrote, and refreshes of old tutorials. Content strategy for developers and their agents.
Who writes, and how code is checked
Writers build with your product before writing, and every line of code in a draft is run before you see it.
Watch for
This is us. Our services are writing, editing and strategy, so if you also need video, paid campaigns or community distribution, look at Draft.dev, Hackmamba or Infrasity. We're a smaller team than Draft.dev, and we don't publish prices.
Pricing
Scoped to your budget and the content you need. Email us for a quote.
Named clients
Anthropic, Clerk, Deno, Modal, Neon, Retool and more

CodeContent

Early-stage teams that want a low, published monthly price.

What they do
Technical blog posts and in-depth tutorials with SEO, plus content strategy and content management.
Who writes, and how code is checked
Engineer-writers start each tutorial in a fresh environment, install the SDK and run the code before writing.
Watch for
A narrower set of services than the larger agencies. Its site doesn't list video, documentation or distribution work.
Pricing
Starter is $1,250 a month for 4 technical blogs or 3 in-depth tutorials. Growth is $2,200 a month for 7 blogs or 5 tutorials, with priority turnaround. Enterprise is custom.
Named clients
Weights & Biases, SuperTokens, Roboflow and Zilliz

Draft.dev

Funded teams that want a full content program, from strategy to promotion.

What they do
Content strategy, blog posts, tutorials and demo apps, comparison and landing pages, lead magnets, video, social posts, content refreshes, reporting, and promotion on Reddit, LinkedIn and X.
Who writes, and how code is checked
A network of more than 300 subject matter experts and reviewers. Draft.dev uses AI workflows to help draft, and each piece is reviewed by developers and edited by technical editors.
Watch for
A three-month minimum, and delivery starts after an initial planning period. Prices aren't published.
Pricing
Retainers on request. A third-party roundup from August 2026 puts retainers at roughly $8,000 to $9,000 a month.
Named clients
More than 100 tech companies, including Sinch Mailgun

EveryDeveloper

Teams that need developer marketing advice more than content volume.

What they do
Adam DuVander's consultancy. Strategy on how developers see your product, tracking of how AI models describe it, and advice on important developer decisions. Adam wrote Developer Marketing Does Not Exist.
Who writes, and how code is checked
Adam advises directly. The site focuses on strategy and advice rather than producing articles.
Watch for
Works with about five companies at a time, so availability is limited. You'll still need writers to produce the content.
Pricing
Not published.
Named clients
Render, among others

Hackmamba

Seed to Series C companies that want content, SEO, docs and DevRel from one team.

What they do
Technical content, documentation, SEO and AI search, paid media, DevRel, influencer marketing and launches. Distribution on Reddit, Hacker News and DEV is part of content work.
Who writes, and how code is checked
Each piece goes to a writer who has worked in that stack professionally. Briefs come from keyword research, and drafts get an SEO optimization pass. Brief to live takes 10 to 14 days.
Watch for
Built for seed to Series C companies with 20 to 200 employees. You need someone internal to own the work and give product access, and Hackmamba says it isn't the right fit for cheap bulk copy or programmatic SEO.
Pricing
A defined project starts at $5,000. A content or developer marketing leader starts at $10,000 a month, and several workstreams start at $15,000 a month. Content engagements often begin with a paid trial month.
Named clients
Cloudinary, OpenRouter, Novu and Actian

Infrasity

Devtool, AI agent and observability startups that want content, video and Reddit.

What they do
Long technical blog posts, product and API documentation, quickstart guides, technical videos, Reddit marketing and optimization for AI search.
Who writes, and how code is checked
In-house engineers write after working hands-on with your product. Infrasity says its writers have 5 to 10 or more years of engineering experience.
Watch for
Prices aren't published. Its focus is devtools, AI agents, observability and infrastructure, so it's less suited to other kinds of product.
Pricing
Not published. A third-party roundup from August 2026 describes a starter plan of 4 technical guides a month with 7 to 10 day turnaround.

Studio1

AI and open-source teams that want content, docs, demos and launch campaigns.

What they do
Tutorials and implementation guides, documentation and developer experience audits, video demos, DevRel programs and launch support. Content can publish on your blog, Dev.to, Medium or Studio1's own profiles.
Who writes, and how code is checked
Your team approves an outline before the full draft. Studio1 checks the technical flow internally, then sends the draft through your product or engineering review.
Watch for
Prices aren't published, and its process includes a review round from your own engineers.
Pricing
Not published.
Named clients
Nebius, Jozu, Permit.io and Bright Data

What to ask before you sign

Whichever agency you talk to, these answers tell you how much work will land back on your team.

  • Who will write our pieces, and have they used our stack?
  • Do you run every code sample before we see the draft?
  • How much of our engineers' time does each piece need?
  • What is the minimum commitment, and how does a trial work?
  • What will you report on, and how often?

Not sure you need an agency at all? Read agency vs freelancers vs in-house, or see how Argot works.

Questions

It depends on what you need. Draft.dev suits a full content program, Hackmamba suits content plus SEO, docs and DevRel, CodeContent has the lowest published price, and EveryDeveloper suits strategy. Argot suits teams that want code that has been run plus editing and strategy.
